Adding your flight number to your car rental reservation is a simple yet crucial step that can save you from a lot of stress and potential problems.
By providing your flight number at the time you book your car rental, you give the rental company the ability to monitor your flight's status. The rental company can see if your flight is on time, delayed, or even canceled, which can help avoid any potential "no-show" costs incurred as a result of a missed pick-up time.
Most car rental reservations have a grace period, but if you don't show up within that time, the company may mark you as a "no-show" and cancel your reservation. With your flight number, they know you're still on your way and can adjust your pick-up time accordingly. If your flight is delayed or canceled and you haven't added your flight number, it's likely the rental counter will not hold your vehicle and you will not be entitled to a refund.
If you don't have your flight details at the time of booking, you can add them later by contacting the Travel Desk for assistance. It's also a good idea to call the rental company location if you think you will be arriving late. If you're not arriving by a flight (e.g., taking a train or driving), you can simply indicate that you're not on a flight or that you're a "walk-in" customer.
For more information relating to "no-show" policy, please refer to the Important Information summary in your booking confirmation.
Where can I add my flight information?
When booking your Car Rental, we recommend adding your flight information. Select the airline and enter the flight number when you are checking out.
To add or modify Flight Information after you finalize a car rental, please contact the Travel Desk. Flight Information must be received at least 72 hours prior to local pick-up time.
