Joining and leaving groups

Find groups to join and manage your memberships.

Finding groups

Browse groups

1. Go to Social or Groups
2. Browse suggested or featured groups
3. Filter by location, size, or activity

Search for groups

1. Use the search function
2. Enter group name or keywords
3. View matching results

Invitations

Friends can invite you directly to their groups.

Joining a public group

1. Find the group
2. Tap Join
3. You're immediately a member

Joining a private group

1. Find the group (via invitation or link)
2. Tap Request to Join
3. Wait for admin approval
4. You'll be notified when accepted

Accepting a group invitation

1. You'll receive a notification
2. Tap to view the group
3. Tap Accept to join or Decline to ignore

Participating in groups

Once you're a member:

• Chat in the group conversation
• Share your rounds to the group
• Join group events
• View group leaderboards and stats

Group notifications

Control how much you hear from each group:

1. Open the group
2. Tap settings
3. Adjust notification preferences:
   • All activity
   • Mentions only
   • Muted

Leaving a group

1. Open the group
2. Tap Settings
3. Select Leave Group
4. Confirm

You'll no longer see group content or receive notifications. You can rejoin later (subject to group privacy settings).

Transferring ownership before leaving

If you're the group owner and want to leave:

1. First promote another member to admin
2. Transfer ownership to them
3. Then leave the group

If you leave without transferring, ownership may transfer automatically or the group may be deleted.
