Andrew lets you create wagers while you're already on the course. Here's how live betting works.
What is live betting?
Live betting means creating wagers after your round has started—on the first tee, at the turn, or even mid-hole.
Why bet live?
- Forgot to set up bets beforehand
- Want to add stakes based on how the round is going
- A new player joins your group
- Spontaneous side bets during play
How to create a live bet
- Open your active round in Andrew
- Tap Add Wager or the + icon
- Select your bet type
- Choose participants
- Set the amount
- Confirm the wager
Other players receive a notification to accept.
Live bet options
Full round bets (started mid-round)
- Can still bet on overall match outcome
- Scores from holes already played count
- Both players must agree
Remaining holes
- Bet only on holes not yet played
- Clean slate from current hole forward
- Good when joining late
Back nine only
- Start fresh bet at the turn
- Classic "press" opportunity
- Separate from front nine results
Single hole
- Bet on just the upcoming hole
- Quick, contained wager
- Great for "this hole for $5" moments
The press
A traditional golf betting move:
- When you're down in a match, you can "press"
- This creates a new bet for remaining holes
- Original bet continues alongside
- Chance to win back losses (or lose more)
To press in Andrew:
- View your active wager
- Tap Press
- Confirm the new bet
- Opponent must accept
Side bets on the fly
Add spontaneous side bets during play:
Standing on a par 3 tee
"CTP for $5?" Create a closest-to-pin bet before anyone hits.
Long par 5 coming up
"Long drive this hole?" Quick side bet for the fairway.
Someone's playing well
"I bet you can't birdie this hole" - create a one-hole challenge.
Live betting etiquette
Don't slow down play
- Set up bets while others are hitting
- Use quick presets when possible
- Save complex bets for the turn
Be clear on terms
- Confirm what everyone thinks the bet is
- Check handicap settings
- Make sure all parties accept in the app
Keep it friendly
- Don't pressure reluctant bettors
- Respect "I'm good" as an answer
- Remember it's supposed to be fun
