Ready to make your round more interesting? Here's how to create a wager with your playing partners.
Before you create a wager
To create wagers, you'll need:
- A verified Andrew Wallet with funds
- An active round (or one you're setting up)
- At least one other player to bet against
Creating a wager during round setup
- Start setting up a new round
- Add players to your round
- Tap Add Wager or Create Wager
- Select the wager type (Stroke Play, Match Play, Skins, Nassau, etc.)
- Choose your opponent(s)
- Set the amount
- Configure options (handicaps, carryovers, etc.)
- Review and tap Create
The wager is created and other players receive an invitation to accept.
Creating a wager during an active round
- Open your active round
- Tap Wagers tab
- Tap Create Wager
- Follow the same steps as above
Live wagers can be created at any point before the round is affirmed.
Wager settings
Wager type
Choose how you're competing:
- Stroke Play: Lowest total score wins
- Match Play: Win individual holes
- Skins: Win holes outright for skins
- Nassau: Front nine, back nine, and overall
Amount
Set how much is at stake:
- Enter the amount per player
- Must have sufficient wallet balance
- Funds are held when the wager is accepted
Handicaps
Choose how to handle skill differences:
- Full handicap: Use complete course handicaps
- Percentage: Use a portion (e.g., 80%)
- Scratch: No handicap strokes given
Players
Select who's involved:
- Choose one or more opponents
- Can include all players or just some
- Each player must accept the wager
What happens after you create
- Other players receive a notification
- They review the wager terms
- They accept or decline
- Once accepted, funds are held from both parties
- The wager is active
Wager limits
Andrew has limits to promote responsible betting:
- Maximum wager amounts may apply
- Daily/weekly limits may be in place
- Must have verified wallet for larger amounts
Check your wallet settings for your current limits.
Tips for creating wagers
Discuss first — Talk through the bet with your group before creating it in the app.
Check balances — Make sure everyone has sufficient funds to avoid declined wagers.
Be clear on terms — Confirm handicaps, game type, and amount before finalizing.
Start small — If you're new to Andrew wagers, start with smaller amounts until you're comfortable.
