Using guest passes

Guest passes let you invite people who don't have Andrew to join your round. Here's how they work.

What is a guest pass?

A guest pass is an invitation link you can send to anyone via email. When they click it, they can:

• Create an Andrew account
• Join your specific round
• Start tracking scores with your group

It's the easiest way to get friends on Andrew.

Sending a guest pass

1. When setting up a round, tap Add Player
2. Select Send Guest Pass
3. Enter the person's email address
4. Tap Send

They'll receive an email with a link to join your round.

What the recipient sees

The email includes:

• An invitation to join your round
• The course and date
• A link to download Andrew
• Instructions to get started

When they tap the link:

1. They're directed to download Andrew (if they haven't)
2. After creating an account, they're automatically connected to your round
3. They appear in your player list

Guest pass vs. adding a guest

Guest pass (recommended)

• Recipient creates an Andrew account
• They have their own app and can enter scores
• They can use all Andrew features going forward
• Best for people you play with regularly

Adding a guest

• No account needed
• You enter their scores for them
• They can't see the app or interact
• Best for one-time players or those without smartphones

Managing sent guest passes

To see pending guest passes:

1. Go to your round setup or active round
2. Look for players with "Pending" or "Invited" status
3. These are invites that haven't been accepted yet

Resending a guest pass

If they didn't receive the email:

1. Find the pending invite
2. Tap to resend
3. Or remove and send to a different email

Canceling a guest pass

1. Find the pending invite
2. Tap Remove or Cancel
3. The link becomes invalid

Limitations

One round at a time
A guest pass is for a specific round. To invite them to future rounds, they'll need to be a regular Andrew user (which they become after using the guest pass).

Email required
Guest passes are sent via email. You can't send them via text directly (though you can copy the link).

Account creation required
The recipient must create an Andrew account to join. If they just want to play without an account, add them as a guest instead.

Tips for guest passes

Send early
Give your friend time to download the app and set up before tee time.

Follow up
If they haven't joined by the day before, send a reminder or text them directly.

Help them set up
If they're not tech-savvy, offer to help them create their account when you meet up.

Convert to regular invites
Once someone has Andrew, you can invite them the normal way for future rounds.
