Golf is better with friends. Here's how to invite players to join your round in Andrew.
When to invite players
You can add players:
- Before starting: During round setup
- After starting: While the round is in progress
Players can join anytime before the round is completed and affirmed.
Inviting Andrew users
During round setup
- On the round setup screen, tap Add Player
- Search by name or username
- Tap on the player to add them
- Repeat for additional players
- Continue with round setup
During an active round
- Tap the Players or Scorecard section
- Tap Add Player
- Search and select the player
- They receive an invite notification
What invited players see
When you invite someone, they receive:
- A push notification (if enabled)
- An in-app notification in their Play tab
- Details including course, date, and who else is playing
They can tap to Join or Decline the invitation.
Adding guests (non-Andrew users)
Playing with someone who doesn't have Andrew?
- Tap Add Player
- Select Add Guest
- Enter their name
- Optionally enter their handicap
- Tap Add
Guest players:
- Appear on the scorecard
- Have their scores tracked by you
- Can participate in wagers
- Don't need the app installed
Sending a guest pass
Want to get a friend onto Andrew? Send them a guest pass:
- Tap Add Player
- Select Send Guest Pass
- Enter their email address
- Tap Send
They'll receive an email invitation to download Andrew and join your round automatically. This is better than adding a guest because they'll have their own account going forward.
Managing invited players
Pending invites
Players who haven't responded yet show as "Invited" or "Pending" on your player list.
Removing a player
If someone can't make it:
- Go to the player list
- Tap on the player
- Select Remove
Resending an invite
If they didn't see the notification:
- Find them in your player list
- Tap to resend the invite
- Or message them directly in Andrew
Player limits
A round can include multiple players, but consider:
- Standard golf groups are 4 players
- Larger groups may need multiple tee times
- All players share the same scorecard view
- Wagers can involve any or all players
Tips for inviting players
Invite early — Give friends time to see and accept before tee time.
Use guest passes — Better than adding guests since they get their own account.
Check the player list — Make sure everyone joined before starting to track scores.
Message if needed — If someone hasn't responded, send them a direct message.
