If you need to delete your Andrew account, here's how to do it and what to expect.
Before you delete
Consider what happens when you delete:
What's deleted
- Your profile and personal information
- Your posts and comments
- Your round history in Andrew
- Your wallet balance (withdraw first!)
- Your group memberships
- Your messages
What's NOT deleted
- Scores posted to GHIN (those belong to GHIN, not Andrew)
- Completed wager records (for legal/financial compliance)
- Content others have shared that mentions you
Things to do first
- Withdraw your wallet balance
- Transfer any remaining funds to your bank
- Wait for withdrawals to complete
- Download any data you want to keep
- Take screenshots of important rounds
- Save any records you need
- Leave groups
- Transfer ownership of groups you own
- Or they'll be deleted with your account
- Settle outstanding wagers
- Complete any pending bets
- Resolve any disputed transactions
How to delete your account
- Go to Profile → Settings
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap Delete Account
- Read the warning about what will be deleted
- Confirm by entering your password or verification
- Tap Delete Account to confirm
What happens next
Immediate effects
- You're logged out
- Your profile shows as deleted to others
- You can't log back in
Processing period
- Account deletion may take up to 30 days to fully process
- During this time, data is being removed from systems
- You may receive a confirmation email when complete
Data retention
Some data is retained for:
- Legal compliance (financial records)
- Fraud prevention
- Regulatory requirements
This data is not used for any other purpose and is eventually purged per retention policies.
Can I recover a deleted account?
Within a grace period: Some platforms offer a short window to cancel deletion. Check for any confirmation emails with recovery options.
After deletion completes: No. The account and its data cannot be recovered.
Alternatives to deletion
Take a break
Instead of deleting, you could:
- Log out and take time away
- Disable notifications
- Your account stays intact for when you return
Adjust privacy
If privacy is the concern:
- Tighten privacy settings
- Make your profile less visible
- Unfollow/block specific users
