Andrew supports a variety of wager types to match how you like to play. Here's what you can bet on.
Match bets
Bet on the overall outcome of a match between players.
Head-to-head
- Bet against one opponent
- Winner takes the pot
- Can be gross or net (with handicaps)
Team match
- 2v2 or other team formats
- Combined team scores determine winner
- Great for foursome rounds
Hole-by-hole bets
Wager on individual holes throughout the round.
Skins
- Each hole is worth money
- Lowest score wins the hole
- Ties carry over to next hole
- Can accumulate for big payouts
Nassau
- Three bets in one: front 9, back 9, overall 18
- Classic golf betting format
- Separate winners for each segment
Stroke play bets
Bet on total strokes for the round.
Total score
- Lowest total score wins
- Can apply handicap strokes
- Most straightforward bet type
Score vs. target
- Bet on beating a specific score
- Example: "I'll break 85"
- Personal challenge with stakes
Side bets
Fun additional wagers during your round.
Closest to pin (CTP)
- On par 3s, closest tee shot wins
- Measured from pin
- Multiple CTP bets per round
Long drive
- Longest drive on designated hole
- Must be in fairway to count
- Typically on wide par 4s or 5s
Birdies/Eagles
- Bonus for making birdies or eagles
- Everyone contributes to the pot
- Maker takes the bonus
Handicap options
Most bet types can be played:
Gross (scratch)
- Actual scores, no adjustments
- Best for similar skill levels
- Pure scoring competition
Net (with handicap)
- Handicap strokes applied
- Levels the playing field
- Better for mixed skill groups
Choosing the right bet
For competitive friends of similar skill
Try gross match play or skins—pure competition without handicap calculations.
For mixed skill levels
Use net bets so everyone has a fair chance regardless of handicap.
For casual fun
Side bets like CTP and long drive keep things interesting without high stakes.
For the full experience
Nassau covers the whole round with multiple ways to win or lose.
Combining bets
You can run multiple wagers in the same round:
- A Nassau for the main competition
- Skins for hole-by-hole action
- CTP side bets on par 3s
Just make sure everyone's clear on all the bets before teeing off!
