Starting a round in Andrew takes less than a minute. Here's how to get going.
Starting a round
- Open Andrew and tap the Play tab
- Tap Start Round
- Search for your course or select from nearby options
- Choose your tees (tips, whites, etc.)
- Select the holes you're playing (front 9, back 9, or full 18)
- Tap Start
You're now ready to score your round.
Adding players to your round
Playing with others? Add them to your round:
- On the round setup screen, tap Add Player
- Search for Andrew users by name or username
- Select players to add them
- If someone isn't on Andrew, tap Add Guest and enter their name
Players who are Andrew users will receive an invite to join your round. Guests are tracked manually by you.
Joining someone else's round
If a friend started a round and invited you:
- You'll receive a notification
- Tap the notification or go to Play tab
- Find the round invite and tap Join
- Confirm your tee selection
You'll now see the shared scorecard and can enter your own scores.
Choosing your tees
Andrew shows all available tee boxes for the course with their ratings:
- Yardage — Total distance
- Rating — Course difficulty rating
- Slope — Relative difficulty for bogey vs. scratch golfers
Select the tees you're actually playing from. This affects handicap calculations and GPS distances.
Playing fewer than 18 holes
Not playing a full round? No problem:
- Front 9 — Holes 1-9
- Back 9 — Holes 10-18
- Custom — Select specific holes if available
Your score will be recorded appropriately for handicap purposes.
After starting your round
Once your round begins:
- You'll see the scorecard for hole 1
- GPS yardages appear automatically
- Enter scores as you complete each hole
- Swipe or tap to move between holes
Your round saves automatically as you go—no need to worry about losing data.
